Only you can truly understand what you’re going through. But that doesn’t mean you’re alone. There can be people that don’t get it at all. There can be people that have super similar experiences. But only you experienced your tragedy, your struggle, your joy, your love, your life.
It is sometimes hard to think about that only you can truly understand yourself, or it can be liberating. See here’s the thing, you control your own life, you get to decide how you think, how you react and how you move on. You, your body and your mind have the power.
It is because of those hardships and those experiences, that we are who we are. Only we’ve gone through exactly what we have, but that’s what has made us the women we are today.
We all experience heart break, we all experience trauma, but it’s up to us on how we deal with it. We can choose to suck it up and push it under the rug, act like it didn’t affect us. The easy way out. The route I chose for decades. Or we can choose to process it and dig into the deep shit. We can choose to put ourselves first, to commit to the hard work of healing.
Dealing with mental health is hard ass work. But I’m here to tell you it’s worth it!
You are worth it.
You are strong enough to fight through it. You can handle the deep shit, I know you can!
Mental health is a life long journey, baby, but I’m so damn glad I chose my self. I don’t want my traumas to define me anymore. I deserve to be me. I deserve to fight. And you do too!
